Abstrakt

Trening uważności (ang. mindfulness) polega na poprawie umiejętności kierowania uwagi na to, co w danej chwili dzieje się w naszym bezpośrednim otocze-niu. Praktyka ta ma bardzo długą tradycję, a jej elementy można odnaleźć w różnych systemach filozoficznych i religijnych. Ostatnie dziesięciolecia przyniosły znaczny
wzrost zainteresowania zagadnieniami związanymi z uważnością zarówno wśród badaczy, jak i osób spoza środowiska naukowego. Istotną przyczyną tego zjawiska jest fakt, że skuteczność praktyk mindfulness w zakresie zdrowia psychicznego i fizycznego zyskała naukowe potwierdzenie. Treningi uważności są coraz szerzej oferowane pacjentom zmagającym się rozmaitymi problemami zdrowotnymi, a także uczniom zgłaszającym problemy z koncentracją, czy osobom, które chcą poprawić swoje samopoczucie. Niniejsza praca zawiera informacje na temat zasad praktyk mindfulness
oraz korzyści płynących z ich stosowania. W artykule przedstawiono także szczegółowy opis studium przypadku polegającego na wdrożeniu do praktyki wykładowej treningu uważności na podstawie ćwiczenia oddechowego, którego celem było ułatwienie studentom osiągnięcia stanu skupienia.
